Discover the Hondsrug

The Hondsrug is a beautiful, expansive area where history, landscape, and nature intertwine rapidly. A driving route has been developed to give you a feel for this area.

The origins of the route: With the disappearance of the ANWB's previously established highway, there was a need for a new one. The volunteers at the TIP office in Borger joined forces and developed a completely new highway. This way, everyone can discover what the Hondsrug has to offer and explore the area themselves.

The route booklet: Inside the booklet, you'll find a clear description of the route. The volunteers have also done their utmost to write down information about the special places you encounter along the way. You can choose to stop at landmarks such as churches, dolmens, and even a windmill.

Three routes in one. The route, or rather, routes, start in Borger. The route is divided into two sections, and you can choose to ride only the northern section and later the southern section, or complete the entire route in one go. Descriptions for all these options are included in the route booklet.

Want to purchase a route or learn more? Visit the Tourist Info Point in Borger. You can purchase the route, and the volunteers are happy to advise you on museums, provide tips, hiking maps, cycling routes, and other information about the area. The TIP office is located at Hoofdstraat 25 in Borger and is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
