Early life in Southeast Drenthe

The museum offers a permanent exhibition about life and living in Southeast Drenthe in the past. You can see how people lived here in the past, including sod huts and Saxon farmhouses. There's also a traditional school, an old well, a miniature lime kiln, and even a prison. Besides the many sights, there are regular demonstrations of traditional crafts, including a sawmill and a blacksmith's shop.


The museum also has a beautiful collection of fossils, ores, rocks and minerals.



Entrance fees are low, parking is free and dogs are allowed on a leash.
