With a large new building, the Drents Museum now has ample space for major international exhibitions. The old building was also redesigned in 2011. The striking contrast between old and new is evident upon arrival at the museum. Against the backdrop of the old Coach House lies the new, partially underground exhibition hall. The old section houses the permanent departments of Archaeology, Contemporary Realism, and Art from 1885-1935, while the new museum wing hosts major exhibitions.
